Meeting between Youssef Chahed, Head of Government of Tunisia and Hamed Ali, CEO of Nasdaq Dubai

On the 26th of February 2017, Youssef Chahed, Head of Government of Tunisia, received Hamed Ali, CEO of Nasdaq Dubai. Were also present at this meeting:

Khaled Zribi, President of the Tunis Stock Exchange, and
Fathi Ben Grira, Vice-President of the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates

During this meeting, the CEO of Nasdaq Dubai presented the achievements of the Nasdaq Dubai as it is the world’s leading exchange in terms of sukuk issuance. As the Tunisian regulation is being adapted to allow for sukuk issuances (sovereign and private), the Head of the Government of Tunisia stressed out the importance for the Tunisian state to be able to diversify its sources of funding.

During the days following this meeting with the Head of the Government of Tunisia, Hamed Ali (CEO of Nasdaq Dubai), Khaled Zribi (President of the Tunis Stock Exchange), Tahir Mahmood (Head of Nasdaq Dubai Business Development) and Fathi Ben Grira (Vice-President of the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates) met with the following persons:

  • Lamia Zribi, Minister of Finance
  •  Chedly Ayari, Governor of the Tunisian Central Bank
  • Ridha Chalghoum, Advisor to the President of Tunisia
  • Asma Bouraoui Khouja and Eymen Errais , Advisors to the Minister of Development and International Cooperation
  • Salah Essayel, President of the Financial Market Council

All these meetings were jointly arranged by the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates and by the Tunis Stock Exchange and was the natural development of the conference on MENA capital markets organized by the TBC Dubai & Northern Emirates with the participation of the Nasdaq Dubai and the Tunis Stock Exchange
